repeat posts or blog hogs

Is there any way of bringing to BCUK's attention the bloggers who constantly put up the same post, often within about 30 seconds of the last one? It makes a mockery of your 'recent posts' area, because it quickly fills up with the same post that has been posted over and over again.

Do we just click on 'flag this blog' and mark it as spam, or is there some other way? It has been particularly bad this weekend and seems to be starting up again now.

Come to think of it - perhaps I should first have asked whether BCUK has a policy on this?

Thanks in advice for your help. :)

My guess is (I am new here and still fighting my way round) is to mark the WHOLE SITE as INAPROPRIATE...It will be taken off...They then may get the point of people not standing for it.

I haven't done this..but perhaps should have....I have had several posts displaying adverts in private mail..Buy this and that....

Trying at present to find a way to sort friends pics...like those that reply most to the top of the list.

Good luck and let me know how you get on.

It also annoys me when the blogs are advertising stuff or trying to sell you something.

I've flagged such 'people' before. All they do is create another user name/profile. I don't know what the answer is but it is immensely annoying and frustrating.

I think I can understand your frustration. The problem is i think that if you edit your post it shows as being posted again too, so that might make it difficult for BCUK to deal with.

I don't mind a couple of posts an hour - but twenty??? Thirty? More? And all exactly the same?

I wish those bloggers would go and get some hobbies....

I found this in the HELP...

What content is unacceptable to blog.co.uk?
First of all:
We do not monitor content. You as a user carry responsibility and liablilty for content you upload and publish. However, we do check on content which has been brought to our attention. In certain cases, we will delete content without prior notification. Content which is very likely to get deleted without prior notification includes:

Pornography - We delete media of sexual interaction and media displaying genitalia.

Violence - content glorifying violence or depicting scenes of extreme violence will be deleted.

Racism/sexism/homophobia - content expressing racial/sexual intolerance or symbols such as swastikas will be deleted

Spam - Users who leave spam comments, send unsolicited private messages, have blogs full of links to external sites or have blogs excessively using tags or display links or keywords in a repetitive and senseless way will be deleted

Infringement of copyright - any blog clearly infrigning the copyright of another person will be deleted.

This list is not exhaustive. Anything on blog.co.uk could be subject to review by our support team. In less severe cases we may ask the user to make the post/media in question private.

we have a duplicate check, so if the content is realy duplicate it wont allow it to posts at all

furthermore we delete spammers - of course. We are doing a lot against spam, there is no real way
to block them from coming into the recent posts because most of the time if they are really new
we will need a couple of hours before they will be deleted.
