what does tagging a blog do?
I've tagged a blogger who I don't want on my blog but it hasn't had any effect at all...he's still posting comments that have absolutely nothing to do with the post...what purpose does tagging a blog serve if it has no effect?

I saw that blogger. I got comments as well and flagged the blog as spam.

what do you mean with "tagging" a blog. you can set the blogs tags in your blog settings, we don't use them yet but plan do give a good overview of blog tags ordered by categories.
If you mean flagging, flagging a user notfies the support after some people have flagged the same user, blog or media

Sorry, cYzzie, I meant flagging...thought I'd used the wrong word...Oh, I see, several people have to
do it...okay, now I understand...thanks for the inf...GBHs...XXX
Click on the blog you are going to flag. Once on the blog page you will see the option to flag up at the top. Flagging offers different options. I flagged that blog as spam.

that's what I did but didn't notice that it could be classified as spam...can't remember what I flagged it as now, but you have to have several people do it before BCUK do anything about it...he's more of a nuisance and his comments can be very rude, but, so far, not to me...just long reports on careers or some such irrelevant subject matter...boring...GBHs...XXX
Exactly. The comments are just pointless. When in the actual blog, not on the profile page, the flagging offers options and you can choose, at least it did for me.

It depends where you flag them actually - if you flag their actual blog, it gives categories. From their user page, clicking the "report as inappropriate" link doesn't give any categories.

that's the one I used...report as inappropriate...seems rather complicated to stop somebody from getting to your own blog...
He's nothing more than a pain in the butt but would rather keep him away from my blog if possible...How do you flag their actual blog? GBHs...XXX

Visit their blog, and click the "flag this blog" link at the top.
However, there is no mechanism to keep a specific user from visiting your blog. All you can do is ask them publicly to stop visiting your blog and if they persist, email support@blog.co.uk explaining the situation. They will contact the user and warn them to keep away, and if they STILL carry on, their account will be blocked from accessing BCUK in general, not just your blog.
If enough people flag the user, same again, BCUK will send them a warning and block them if they continue to get flagged.
There's nothing stopping them creating a new account, unfortunately.

So basically, there's little that can be done to prevent nuisance or malicious bloggers...just have to live with them...this one isn't causing any distress so won't bother to pursue this any further, but, clearly, some bloggers are causing a heck of a lot of distress to others and it seems little can be done to stop them...penalty of freedom of the Net but a freedom I don't want to lose under any circumstances...GBHs...XXX

The only thing you can do is report them and wait for others to do the same. Unless there is something particularly nasty or breaking terms and conditions, in which case the blogger can be blocked ASAP.
I for one have set my comments to moderated. Any comments from friends get through straight away, but those from non-friends or visitors have to be approved.

I just delete unwanted ones...but sounds like a good idea to moderate visitors and non-friends...thanks for the inf...GBHs...XXX

Hi Jenny , you can at least partially 'block' another user by sending them a blank message , then finding it in your sent folder , then clicking on 'block' to the top right of the recipients ID ,
